JERSEY BY AIR A702
|
| Return flights from HUMBERSIDE AIRPORT |
| The largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands, Jersey is 100 miles from the south coast of England, and just 14 miles from France. Measuring only nine miles by five, this tiny island with its clear air and clean sea really is a holiday paradise. The broad sandy bays in the south are amongst the best and cleanest beaches in Europe, and the landscape alters dramatically with rocky cliffs in the north. In all 50 miles of coastline wait to be explored along scenic coastal paths which cater for anything from a gentle stroll to a full day’s ramble. Quiet country lanes, lush green countryside and abundant flowers are a surprise to many first time visitors, and the island certainly is a natural gem.
In contrast, the capital St Helier is alive with bustling streets and an exciting new waterfront area. The public transport system on the island is easy to use, or you may decide to hire a car to explore the many attractions. The world renowned Jersey Zoo was established by the late Gerald Durrell, and the German Underground hospital is a chilling reminder of the Island’s occupation by the Germans during the Second World War. Flower lovers should not miss the Eric Young Orchid Foundation, one of Europe’s foremost collections. The list is endless! Come and see for yourself – you’ll be sure of a great welcome.
